The U.S. Coast Guard rescued a sailor in the Pacific Ocean after spending two months adrift, NBC News reported. During his time at sea, he witnessed the death of three fellow shipmates and was able to survive by eating seagulls.
Details aren't known and the survivor --a 29-year-old Colombian-- wasn't identified by officials.
He was picked up some 3,500 miles from home — far out in a desolate stretch of the Pacific Ocean, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
When the engine of their 23-foot skiff failed they found themselves adrift and were forced to eat fish and seagulls to stay alive, he told the Coast Guard.
