Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders sent a warning to rival Hillary Clinton again about her pick for a running mate.
During an interview to air on Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Sanders doubled down on his warning, saying Clinton’s choice for vice president will be critical in winning his supporters going into the general election.
"That means having a candidate who can excite working families, excite young people, bring them into the political process, create a large voter turnout," Sanders told host Chuck Todd.
The Vermont senator said Clinton should pick a hardline progressive as a running mate if she secures the Democratic nomination for president. That, he said, could appeal to supporters who flocked to the Sanders campaign during the primary.
